About this photo

Applying through the London Councils? The Freedom Pass photo it wants measures 35 by 45 mm. Use a plain white or light grey or off-white background with nothing behind you and no shadow on the wall. Head height from chin to crown is 32 to 36 mm. A passport-sized colour photograph taken within the last 12 months, full face, no hat; applications with a non-compliant photo are refused. Home photos are accepted when they follow the rules, so a well-lit phone picture taken by someone else works. If you apply online (London Councils online application), the file must be as a JPEG. Our service frames the Freedom Pass photo to these measurements, cleans the background and checks it against the rules before any payment.
