About this photo

For a British Citizenship by Naturalisation photo, the UKVI sets the print size at 35 x 45 mm. A white or light grey or off-white background is accepted, as long as it is uniform and without pattern. The UKVI takes your photo at the counter when you apply, so a photo of your own is usually not needed for this document. Frame it so the head takes 32 to 36 mm of the 45 mm height. Applications are made with printed photos, so you need a physical copy rather than an upload. Your biometric information, fingerprints and a photo, is taken at a UKVCAS appointment or through the ID Check app. Send us any clear picture and you get a British Citizenship by Naturalisation photo at these measurements, background included, checked before checkout.
