About this photo
For an ImmiCard photo, the Department of Home Affairs sets the print size at 35 x 45 mm. Neutral expression, eyes open, mouth closed, looking straight at the camera. A photo taken at home with a phone is fine provided it meets these rules; ask someone else to take it at eye level. The upload for Department of Home Affairs online application needs to be as a JPEG, no larger than 10 MB. Behind you: plain white or light grey or off-white, lit evenly so no shadow falls on the face or the wall. Head height from chin to crown is 32 to 36 mm. We crop your picture to the ImmiCard format, set the background and check the head size before you pay.
