About this photo
The Immigration Department (ImmD) asks for a HKSAR Passport photo of 40 by 50 mm. Neutral expression, eyes open, mouth closed, looking straight at the camera. The upload for ImmD online application (GovHK) needs to be at least 1280 by 1600 pixels, as a JPEG, no larger than 5 MB. A photo taken at home with a phone is fine provided it meets these rules; ask someone else to take it at eye level. Your head, chin to crown, should measure 32 to 36 mm on the print. Use a plain white background with nothing behind you and no shadow on the wall. We crop your picture to the HKSAR Passport format, set the background and check the head size before you pay.
