The Malaysian Employment Pass photo accepted by the Immigration Department of Malaysia (ESD) is a 35 by 50 mm portrait. Behind you: plain white, lit evenly so no shadow falls on the face or the wall. Head height from chin to crown is 30 to 35 mm. A photo taken at home with a phone is fine provided it meets these rules; ask someone else to take it at eye level.
