About this photo

Photos for a US Green Card application with USCIS (Form I-485) share the American two by two inch format: 51 by 51 mm, with the head filling 50 to 69 per cent of the image. USCIS asks for printed passport-style photos mailed with the form; there is no digital photo upload, so you need prints. Choose a plain white or off-white background. Since November 2016 glasses have to come off unless you have a signed medical statement. Keep a neutral expression with both eyes open and your mouth closed. Leave out uniforms, camouflage, headphones and anything that covers your face.
