About this photo
Applying through the Department of Social Protection (MyWelfare)? The Public Services Card photo it wants measures 35 by 45 mm. Neutral expression, eyes open, mouth closed, looking straight at the camera. Your head, chin to crown, should measure 32 to 36 mm on the print. Behind you: plain white or light grey or off-white, lit evenly so no shadow falls on the face or the wall. Online, Department of Social Protection (MyWelfare) online application takes an upload as a JPEG. Home photos are accepted when they follow the rules, so a well-lit phone picture taken by someone else works. We crop your picture to the Public Services Card format, set the background and check the head size before you pay.
