About this photo

The Finnish Passport photo accepted by the Police of Finland (Poliisi) is a 36 by 47 mm portrait. The upload for the online application needs to be at least 500 by 653 pixels, as a JPEG, no larger than 250 KB. You can take it at home on a phone: have someone stand a couple of metres away at eye level rather than holding the phone yourself. Frame it so the head takes 32 to 36 mm of the 47 mm height. Colour or black-and-white; no more than six months old; no manipulation or digital make-up. The background must be plain light grey or light neutral colour, evenly lit and free of shadows.
