About this photo

Applying for a Chinese Visa through the Chinese Visa Application Service Center? The photo uses the same 33 by 48 mm frame as Chinese passports, and the online form, China Online Visa Application (COVA), rejects files that fall outside a tight window: JPEG only, 354 by 472 up to 420 by 560 pixels, and no heavier than roughly 120 KB. Stand in front of a pure white wall, show both ears, close your mouth and look straight ahead. Tinted lenses and glare on glasses are refused. Print copies for the visa centre should come from the same image so the two never differ, and the picture must be under six months old.
